We met Steven at a grocery store.
Aside from living my life as a photographer and wife, I am also a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Recently, I had the opportunity to do some freelance work for a few grocery stores in Oregon. These classes are held in the store and they are focused on how to manage Type 2 Diabetes with food and medication. They are led by an RD (me in this case) and a pharmacist. This is where Steven comes in. He was the pharmacist working during the tour. Such a great guy – charismatic, good at teaching, smart, patient, and kind. We had fun walking the group around the store, answering questions and sharing our knowledge. At the end of the tour, Steven mentioned that his fiancé, Faith, also had a degree in Nutrition and would be interested in talking to me about my experience. And of course, once Micah heard the word “fiancé” he excitedly told Steven that I was also a photographer and if they needed engagement photos…then I’m their gal. Steven’s face lit up and said that they had just recently moved from Indiana, and were actually thinking about getting engagement photos done in Oregon! We chatted for a bit, exchanged info, and headed home.
Fast forward a few weeks… I get a phone call. On the other line was this sweet, bubbly voice inquiring about engagement photos (It was Faith). After chatting on the phone for awhile and learning more about them as a couple, we decided we had to do something fun and outdoorsy for their engagement session.
After a few weeks of brainstorming and planning, I received a text from Faith with an amazing idea. They decided they wanted to plan their WEDDING instead. She said that this would fit them perfectly, and that they would plan a reception in Indiana to share with all of their friends and family.
I hope these photos illustrate the amazing love story that these two share. They’ve been through quite a journey in the 8 years that they’ve been together. Amongst incredible adversity, they've pursued each other and encouraged one another. Adventuring for an entire day with them and hearing their sweet story was an experience Micah and I will never forget.
Life has a crazy way of bringing people together… and we’re so glad it brought us you, Faith & Steven.
“I think this will always be our favorite hike” – Faith Miller.
